Post Vacation Grocery Haul


After being home and in Colorado for the past 10 days- the boyfriend and i were in desperate need of a major grocery trip. We pretty much cleaned out our apartment of all food before we left- leaving us with not much to work with once we got back. I may be the only one, but i personally love to go to the grocery store (kinda weird, right?) So, i figured this would be the perfect time to show you what’s in our shopping cart… Even if you are used to grocery shopping for yourself- perhaps this will give you some ideas of new foods to try or help you think of different foods to incorporate into your diet.. From all the necessities to fun foods: here’s your own sneak peak. IMG_5020

Protein (And Fat) Sources:

  1. Great Value Egg Whites (perfect for omelets, i use ew a lot in my oatmeal for added volume)
  2. Great Value Vanilla Almond Milk
  3. Chicken Breasts (i could literally eat chicken for every meal)
  4. Shady Brook Farms 97% Fat Free White Turkey Breast (I prefer the 97% lean so that i can save my fat macros for other fun things like peanut butter or cheese)
  5. Johnsonville 3 Cheese Italian Style Chicken Sausage (i have never tried these before but thought i would give them a go- macros are 9F, 4C, 12P)
  6. Oikos Plain Greek Yogurt (perfect for making ranch dip or as a substitute for greek yogurt on tacos)
  7. Yoplait Greek 100 Yogurts (great source of protein and good flavors for my sweet tooth)
  8. Sabra Hummus: Roast Red Pepper Hummus (great as a dip for fresh veggies or used on a salad)
  9. Roasted Turkey Breast Deli Meat (perfect for a quick sandwich on the go)
  10. Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges: Spicy Pepper Jack & Creamy Swiss (Obsessed with these. Can use with anything. Great Macros 1.5F, 1C, 2P)


Fresh Produce:

  1. Tomatos
  2. Bolthouse Farms-Baby Carrots (perfect to throw in your purse for a snack, to have with hummus or dip)
  3. Dole Romaine Lettuce
  4.  Market Fresh Spring Mix
  5.  Mushrooms (great with omlettes, or when making fajitas)
  6.  Green Peppers (perfect for omelets, fajitas, stir fry, such a great diverse veggie)
  7. Cucumbers
  8. NOT PICTURED: onions
  9. NOT PICTURED: spaghetti squash (great substitution for pasta with a lot of volume and great macros: for TWO cups: 1.5F, 14C, 1.2P)


Frozen Goods:

  1. Recipe Ready Grilling Blend (Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Red Onion, and Red Peppers)
  2. Hanover Steam in a Bag Asparagus (very macro friendly vegetable and steam in a bag makes it really easy/quick to prepare)
  3. Steamfresh Roasted Red Potatoes & Green Beans (just add protein and you have a complete meal- Macros are 2.5F, 20C, 3P)
  4. Green & Red Pepper & Onion Stir Fry Blend (great for fajitas, omletes)
  5. Pictsweet Baby Brussel Sprouts
  6. Birdseye Lightly Sauced Broccoli and Cream Sauce (great if your tired of regular broccoli and want to switch it up a little; tastes great with good macros: 2.5F, 5C, 5P)
  7. Great Value Broccoli Florets
  8. Alexia Sweet Potato Blend (This was really delicious and all you have to do is add protein- macros 2F, 13C, 2P)



  1. Quaker Lightly Salted Rice Cakes (easy to grab, throw in your purse, and go)
  2. Quaker Caramel Rice Cakes (great flavor to switch it up from plain)
  3. Great Value Whole Wheat Rotini (the boyfriends carb of choice)
  4. Brown Rice
  5. Great Value Quick Oats (I prefer old fashioned oats but same idea)
  6. Cobblestone Cinnamon Raisin Bagels (another one of the bf’s staples)
  7. Brownberry Healthy Multigrain Bread (i’m not cutting so i prefer my bread to be hearty and not super “light” i.e. real bread LOL: macros are 1F, 23C, 4P per 1 slice)
  8. Thomas Multigrain English Muffins (great for making healthy breakfast sandwiches)

Condiments/Salad Dressing/Etc:

  1. Kraft Strawberry Balsamic Dressing (tried this for the first time today-DELCICIOUS. I do not like balsamic vinaigrettes typically but i loved this: macros 2.5F, 6C, 0P)
  2. Wish Bone Fat Free Italian
  3. Reduced Sugar Heinz Ketchup (tastes the same as regular ketchup with less carbs)
  4. Wegmans Honey Mustard (by far THE BEST honey mustard)
  5. McCormick Grill Mates Barbecue (great if you want the flavor of bbq without the extra calories from bbq sauce)
  6. McCormick Grill Mates Chipotle Roasted Garlic
  7. Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch Packets (great for dips, making your own ranch dressing, flavoring chicken, etc)
  8. Krema Crunchy Peanut Butter (the best crunchy pb out there that is 100% natural)
  9. Thrifty Bee Honey (great simple carbohydrate- great to sweeten plain greek yogurt or to use on rice cakes)


“Fun Stuff”:

  1. Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch (the boyfriend’s current cereal of choice)
  2. Golden Grahams (i love cereal as toppers for my protein ice cream bowls at the end of the night)
  3. Kellog’s PB&J Poptarts (the best flavor on sale for $1)
  4. Oikos Salted Caramel Frozen Greek Yogurt (delicious frozen yogurt with ALOT of caramel ribbons throughout-macros are 3F, 28C, 6P)
  5. Arctic Zero Cookie Dough (great macros for dieting and i really like the cookie dough chunks)
  6. Nutter Butter Bites (my cookie of choice: bites are more macros friendly as opposed to the larger cookies)
