October Favorites

Hello, friends! Another month has gone by and it has been yet another month of lack of blog posts on my part. I recently starting working my first big girl job, while still simultaneously working at Cheesecake Factory, and quite frankly, blogging has been put on the back burner. It is not like i haven’t thought about posting, multiple times on multiple occasions, however the energy to do so-that, i have been lacking.

But i have finally mustered up the energy for another Favorites blog post because believe it or not, we are already in the month of November. My mind is blown. Halloween is over so you know what that means…’tis the Christmas season…. and i am very, very excited about it.

So my favorites for the month of October….. let’s get right to it.

  • New York Texas Toast Really Ranch Croutons. Now, I have never really been the type of person who loved croutons. They are just dried bread, right? Well technically yes, but they are so much more than that. Recently, i have been having cravings for just that….crunchy croutons. I found these bad boys at my local Shop and Save and oh, be still my beating heart! These are delicious. They add the perfect amount of crunch and flavor to my salads and lets be real, salads can get boring after a while. These delicious croutons are 35 calories per serving and are 1.5F/4C/1P. A serving size is a tad small for my off-season taste so i use more like 4-5 servings on my salad but to me, the calories are more than worth it. Go buy yourself some.

  • Peter Pan Simply Ground Peanut Butter. Typical right? Another peanut butter making the list of favorites…. But let’s be honest here.. Is there really such a thing as bad peanut butter? I think not. This peanut butter is amazing though. It is a creamy peanut butter with little tiny peanut bits for a slight crunchy, yet still smooth, texture. Macros, per serving, are 16F/9C/7P. Your basic peanut butter with a standout texture… definitely worth picking up next time you go to the grocery store.
  • Show On Netflix: QUANTICO. If you are anything like me, chances are pretty good you may find yourself looking for that next show that is going grab your interest. Netflix and chill, anyone? My latest series that the boyfriend and I have started watching is Season 1 of Quantico and omg, i am obsessed. This show is about a group of individuals training to become FBI agents at, you guessed it, Quantico. The main character Alex Parrish becomes a suspect in a terrorist attack and has to find out who framed her…. It flashes between the present and the past in a very captivating way that easily grabs the viewers attention. If you like shows such as How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal, Blacklist, or Criminal Minds… this may be a show you want to check out. Season 2 is currently playing on ABC and I for one, am trying to get caught up. No spoilers please.
  • NYX Intense Butter Gloss.  I am by no means an expert when it comes to makeup. I am an amateur at best. But I do find myself searching around for lipsticks some times in an effort to add some sass to my life. I love NYX as a brand because their stuff is good quality and inexpensive. I wore this lip gloss/color to my work Halloween party and I loved it. Nothing is worse than buying a lipstick where you think the color is going to look one way and it turns out looking the exact opposite. This color, Berry Strudel, was as bright and colorful as i had hoped. Now, i don’t know if i could rock this color on a day to day basis however maybe you could. I am definitely going to go check out some of their other colors and add a pop of color to my everyday work look. Found at Target.

Last but not least, i am going to leave with a reflection on this past month. October has flown by in a whirlwind. With working at Equalize and Cheesecake Factory, the commute, getting to the gym, focusing on my fitness and non fitness goals…. that doesn’t leave much time to relax. Being so busy, it is easy to put yourself on the back burner because there is so much going on. However, this past month I have been trying to focus more on myself…specifically “treating myself”IMG_8158.JPG

My definition of treating myself has been getting my nails done. I don’t spend a lot of money on myself and this is my one treat. Nothing makes you feel more hella fierce than a nice set of claws. (Insert sassy girl emoji here). So i ask you…what is one thing that you enjoy doing FOR YOU? Getting a manicure? Pedicure? A massage? Cuddling up with a good book? Buying that new sweater or sneakers you’ve been eyeing? Whatever it may be… I firmly believe that by focusing on yourself, to a degree, you will not only feel happier, healthier, but it will help make you more productive person overall.

So there you have it. My October Favorites. What have been some of your favorites for the month of October? I am always looking for new things to try, both fitness and non fitness  alike, so leave a comment and share with us all.

Thanks so much for reading and i promise to be better about posting. My goal is to post AT LEAST once a week and to get back on my blogging train. I would love to know what you guys would like to see in future posts so leave ideas in a comment and hit that like button while you’re at it.

Talk soon,

Quantico is soooo good. I can’t wait to find out what happens at the end of season 1 lol. But for my nails I usually get a gel manicure with stiletto tips. Color wise… anything fall and festive 💁🏼💅🏼. I wish we had a pizza place around here that did that… that sounds awesome !

You’ve officially convinced me to go get my nails done this week. I’ve been wanting to but keep telling myself I shouldn’t spend money on that. But I have my stubby little nails and LIFE IS SHORT OKAY WHY NOT. Love reading your posts 🙂 i forget that croutons are a thing so I need to reintroduce them to my life.
